Your family already has a story.Let them write it.
Blue Rock Legacy Books gathers poems and writings from the people you love such as children, parents, grandparents, cousins, surrogate family members and the relatives your kids have never met — and turns them into a keepsake book made for your family.
"This isn't just a book. It's a family artifact."
Welcome to Connected
Families are made up of more than the people who share our home — or even the people whose names we know. They grow through generations, marriages, new branches, old stories, and people whose lives become woven together with ours.
Each person has contributed a little piece of themselves — their humor, imagination, memories, and love.
Either way, there is something you share.
You are connected.

How a family book grows
One book. Many branches.
A family begins with a Root Edition, which may include poems from parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and children. If another part of the family tree wants to add their side, they can create a Branch Edition that carries forward the existing poems and adds new ones. For smaller updates, like edits or additional poems, there are Leaf Additions. Every edition has its own Edition ID, so the family lineage always stays connected.
Created by your family
Real voices, not ghostwriting
Poems and writing come from the people you love. We collect the contributions, organize them, lightly edit, and design — we don't replace anyone's words.
No poetry experience needed
Heart matters more than form
Contributors can type something new, upload something they already have, or ask us for help getting started. Grown-ups are welcome to send in poems they wrote as children — a piece from a school notebook forty years ago belongs in this book as much as anything written this week.

You don't need an account and you don't need to be a poet. If you have your invitation link, open that. If you don't, enter the book's Edition ID below and we'll take you to the right place.
Find the book you were asked to contribute to
The family member who invited you can give you this. It looks like BRLB-GON-001 and appears in their confirmation email and on the book's edition page.
What you can send
- Something new — funny, short, silly, or serious.
- Something you already wrote and kept.
- A poem you wrote as a child. Grade school, high school, any time in your life — those are some of the best pages in these books.
- A photo or scan of a handwritten piece.
If you have kids
Please give them a chance to contribute something of their own. Children's poems are the heart of these books, and a page written by a seven-year-old is often the one the whole family quotes.
About Blue Rock Legacy Books
It started with a bedtime book and a question.
Amy — the founder of Blue Rock Legacy Books — was reading Where the Sidewalk Ends to her daughter Blue — the Shel Silverstein collection that a lot of us grew up on — and found herself imagining a version of that reading experience where the authors weren't strangers. Where the funny one was an uncle. Where the sad one was a grandmother. Where a child could turn a page and meet a relative they'd never had the chance to know.
That's the whole idea. Not a family tree that documents who is in your family, but a book that captures a little of who they are — their humor, their imagination, the things they notice.
